Please notify a supervisor if any vehicle appears to be damaged, defective, or in need of repair. Prompt reporting of damages, defects, and the need for repairs could prevent deterioration of equipment and possible injury to employees or others.
Proper and safe operation of customer vehicles is a fundamental job requirement at FreedomPark. The improper, careless, negligent, destructive, or unsafe use or operation of customer or company vehicles can result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
Safe driving cannot be completely defined by policies and procedures. Safety is an attitude and a commitment.
However, the following policies are minimum requirements for the operation of company and customer vehicles:
1. Always observe the speed limit. Exceeding the speed limit going to and from the airport has no real time-savings benefit given the short driving distances, and only serves to increase the safety risk.
2. Drive no more than 15 MPH in the terminal areas, including on the ramps, and while driving on the FreedomPark lot.
3. Anticipate your lane changes and avoid radical lane changes. If you get 'boxed in' and cannot safely make your lane change, continue on in the same lane. The D/FW Airport is designed to be able to recover if you miss your turn, and doing so will take less than a minute.
4. Never engage in any unauthorized use of a cusotmer or company vehicle.
5. Take your time when parking. Most of the vehicle damage we experience happens during the process of pulling into or out of parking spaces.
